まずは、会員の皆様のご家族やお友達、関係者も被災された方も
いらっしゃると思います。心からご同情申し上げるとともに、
これからも苦しい日々が続くでしょうが、一刻も早く回復することを祈念いたします。

とても心苦しいため、現状は割愛いたします。
幸いニューヨークの日系コミュニティーでも、応援の機運が高まり、
義援金を集める活動を複数のNPO団体が初めています。
日本から遠くはなれてニューヨークにいる我々メンバーは、
それほどお役に立てる事はないかもしれませんが、被災地の方へ
「応援するけんがんばってね、！」の気持ちで参加できればと思います。
今後の被災者の生活や復興の手助けのために、寄付に参加したり、
米国のお友達や知人に協力依頼を広める事で役に立てる筈です。

各団体の意向に賛同し寄付をするもよし、これらのサイトを友人知人に教えて、
賛同者を増やすお手伝いでもよし、皆さんの少しづつの善意が必ず、きっと、
間違いなく被災地の、被災者の「支え」、「援助」になります。
以上、ばってん会の本来の趣旨とは離れた告知とお考えの方もいらっしゃると
思いますが、ご容赦のうえご協力をお願いいたします。これから被災地では、
事態の収束から復興に向けて本当に長い長い戦いが続きますが、

Re: Japan relief funds
As you all know, we have had a terrible disaster back in Japan.
First of all, we would like to pray for the people affected by the monstrous earthquake and tsunami. Those who are suffering may be among your families, friends, or someone you know.
Rather than go into the heart-wrenching details, we would like to focus on what we can do to help them – in our strong Kyushu-jin spirit!
Fortunately, among the Japanese communities in New York, as well as our American friends, the spirit of support is high and growing. Many organizations have already started collecting donations toward the rescue and recovery effort.
For the many of you who want to help, please refer to the following links for donations to the relief funds. You can send donations to your preferred groups and organizations. Please forward this information to your friends and others, asking them to join us in helping out. Each person’s contribution, no matter how small, will collectively make a huge difference!
There will no doubt be a long fight ahead for so many victims of the disaster to return to anything close to normal lives. Let’s make a difference today by supporting our homeland whenever and however we can.
